Short, specific and affordable
Small business engagements are deliberately narrow. One question, properly answered, is worth more than a broad review nobody has time to read.
Most consulting is built for companies with a finance department. This is built for the owner who does the books on Sunday evening.
Small businesses get the worst of both worlds in professional services. The advice aimed at them is usually generic, and the advice that is actually specific is usually priced for companies ten times their size.
We are a small firm in Hamilton, Ontario working with small businesses across Canada. The engagements are short, the scope is clear, and the price is agreed before anything starts. No retainer you cannot get out of, no hours billed against a problem you did not ask about.

Across small business engagements, the same handful of problems account for most of the work: pricing that has not moved in years while costs have, cash that disappears despite a profitable year, a first hire that the owner cannot confidently commit to, and a suspicion that one part of the business is quietly subsidising another.
None of these need a large engagement. They need someone to look at the actual numbers and give a straight answer.

Engagements are fixed-scope and fixed-price, agreed after a free initial conversation. We size the work to the question and to a small business budget rather than billing open-ended hours.
